Erin Riswold
Attorney
Erin started her career hoping to spend her time with clients she respected, on matters she thought were important. Estate planning fulfilled those requirements. While she gained valuable experience practicing litigation at the start of her career, she found she was more suited to working with clients who wanted to build something. For these reasons, she has expanded her practice to include Probate, Trust Administration, Conservatorships, and Guardianships.
Erin is honored to work with clients with their Estate Planning, Conservatorship, and Guardianship needs, where she can assist with making their lives better. She is likewise humbled to work with clients on Probate and Trust Administration cases, where she can help wrap up the legal aspect of a person's life.
Erin earned her B.A. from UC Davis in 2014 and graduated Valedictorian from McGeorge School of Law in May 2018, where she earned her J.D. She loves spending time with her two dogs.
Tim Riswold
Attorney
Tim knew he wanted to become a lawyer before he started college. After graduating college, when applying to law school was just around the corner, Tim managed to convince his wife, Erin, to apply as well. He dreamed of opening a law practice together. The only roadblock: Erin did not want to go to school anymore. After much persuasion and arm twisting, Tim convinced her to join him in attending law school. Much to his surprise, and her delight, she quickly showed her ability to outshine him and the rest of the class. Tim considers himself lucky to work with his wife, who has the sharpest legal mind he knows (and lucky he had her as a study partner in law school!)
Tim practices Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration.
He received his B.A. from UCLA, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his J.D. from McGeorge School of Law in 2018 with Great Distinction, and is a member of the Order of the Coif.
Ed Koons
Of Counsel
Ed Koons has over 40 years of experience serving the Auburn community. He received his B.A. from UC Berkeley and J.D. from McGeorge School of Law as a member of the Traynor Society. He is also a past president of the Placer County Bar Association and a former partner at Johanson, Koons, & Constantino. He established the Law Office of Edward C. Koons in 2013, which became Koons & Riswold in 2020. He semi-retired in 2021 to spend more time with his family.
